About this knife
- Petty knives of this 130mm length are small, for detail work and compact boards.
- It has a Japanese-style (wa) handle: a handle without a metal bolster, set into the blade with a hidden tang.
- SLD is semi-stainless: it resists rust better than carbon steel but is not stain-proof.
- It is double-bevel (sharpened on both sides), so it works for left- and right-handed cooks.

Good to know for beginners
A petty is the small knife for the jobs a chef's knife is too big for: peeling, trimming, shallots, herbs and fruit in hand. At 130mm it is nimble enough for work in your hand. SLD is semi-stainless: long edge life, just wash and dry it after cooking. The Japanese wa handle is light and puts the balance toward the blade.
