These are product prices as the stores listed them at the check date shown, not delivered totals: shipping, taxes and import fees depend on where you live, and stock can change after a check. Prices in other currencies are converted at the European Central Bank rate of 2 Nov 2026. Each price was matched to this exact version of the knife, listed as in stock, and checked within the last 48 hours. Out-of-stock rows show the store's last listed price; they don't count toward the lowest price or the price gap. How we check · Terms

What to know before you buy
About this knife
- Petty knives of this 150mm length are small, for detail work and compact boards.
- It has a Western-style (yo) handle, the kind most cooks outside Japan are used to.
- R2/SG2 is a stainless steel, which resists rust better than carbon steel.
- It is double-bevel (sharpened on both sides), so it works for left- and right-handed cooks.
Limits to know
- Like any hard Japanese blade, keep it off bones, frozen food and glass or stone boards.
Written from this knife's catalog record (steel, handle, length, grind). Knife Fit has not tested it; see how we work.
Good to know for beginners
A petty is the small utility knife for fruit, herbs, shallots and detail work. R2/SG2 is stainless: it won't rust in normal use, so it is the easy choice for everyday cooking.
